U.K. Tour Schedule!! (rev. 9/27)

I’m taking those demons on the road to the United Kingdom (as if you guys don’t already have enough of your own). This is a 2/1 tour, folks. Author Jeyn Roberts will be touring with me (or me with her, depending on your preference). Her debut young adult novel (DARK INSIDE) was published by Macmillan Children’s Books on Sept 1st in the UK and you should seriously check it out. Jeyn is a Canadian who studied in Britain. I’m (obviously) an American who has spent a great deal of time researching (pubs and graveyards) in your fair countries. So we’re really keen to return to your shores.

But first those dreaded disclaimers:

Disclaimer the First: I do not arrange my tour schedule so I go where my publishers send me. If I’m not in your area this time, I’ll see what I can do for you the next time around.

Disclaimer the Second: This schedule may alter as time passes so check back every now and then. I’ll put the Revision Date in the headline so you can see if it’s different in any way. Those events that have been added or changed I’ll post in red.

Disclaimer the Final: ALWAYS check Twitter (@crazyauthorgirl) or my Facebook page (facebook.com/janaoliver) for updates. I will also try to keep this website updated for last minute details but it’s harder when I’m on the move.

Trains are delayed, life happens and I’d hate to have you expecting me to be somewhere and I’m not. I’ll post updates when I have access to wi-fi, which is a lot better nowadays that it used to be.

* Note – since Jeyn and I are new authors to your shores the majority of our appearances will be in schools, which are *closed to the public.* However, my publisher is setting up some opportunities to meet with me in open events. So here goes the schedule:

  1. Emma Harris Emma Harris says:

Wot about Cornwall? We always get missed out.

  2. Jana Jana says:

Sorry! I really like Cornwall. My husband and I were there in 2001 right before Christmas. We stayed in Penzance. It was *way* cold, but so festive with all the holiday decorations.

Maybe next time, my dear. It’d be nice to visit there again.

  3. michelle michelle says:

[cries] In Liverpool you will be like 30 mins away from where i live and work and i can’t go since its in a school.

  4. Jana Jana says:

@ Michelle – I know, hon. I’m sorry! There are a couple holes in the schedule while I’m in Liverpool (Thursday evening and Friday afternoon after the school event but before I catch the train to London). Let me get a better sense of how those times will play out and maybe we can meet up somewhere. If not, I’ll definitely try to get back to Liverpool down the line.

  5. Iffath Iffath says:

    No Manchester?! *cries*

  6. Jana Jana says:

    @Iffath – I know. No Manchester. :-(

@Michelle — Jeyn and I are chatting about Liverpool options. Maybe the stars will align and it’ll all work out.

  7. Lianne Lianne says:

Awe, nowhere in Cambridgeshire :-( x

  8. michelle michelle says:

*fingers crossed* I really hope so…i literally live like 30 mins away if that, in Bootle.

  9. Jana Jana says:

    :-( Sorry, Lianne!

@ Michelle – Gotta love a town named Bootle.

  10. Jana Jana says:

I suppose you have to spell it all the time, though. Better than some city names I could mention (but won’t so I don’t get angry email from their residents).

  11. michelle michelle says:

Not really, i just have a habit of dropping the ‘t’ when i say it, but most people know how its spelt. Lived in Bootle my whole life so i’m kinda getting bored of it now although a lot of people probably say that about where they live :D .
Our main attraction is Bootle Docks!!!!! O_o

  12. Jana Jana says:

Docks would be interesting to me but then I’m just weird and I grew up in a landlocked state in the middle of a bunch of other states. If I grew up near the water I’d probably be totally bored by the whole concept.

  13. michelle michelle says:

They have some very interesting smells too :D
When we finally move back into our flat we will have a view of them, but also of Wales on a clear day and the sunset at night, so thats got to count for something.
Thanks for replying to my comments, I will give you a bit of peace now while I attempt my college work >_<

  14. Jana Jana says:

Good luck with the homework. And if I could see Wales every now and then I’d be a VERY happy person, smells notwithstanding.

  15. dawn dawn says:

The students in Liverpool are so lucky!! please do an open event while you are there x

  16. Jana Jana says:

Jeyn and I chatted via e-mail today and she’s also up for something Thurs noc the 29th. Once we figure out the details (we don’t know our hotel yet) I’ll post the information all over everywhere.

  17. dawn dawn says:

Yay! I just figured out twitter today so hopefully I will now be able to keep updated. So glad that you chose our country and town to visit on the tour, so exciting!

  18. Jana Jana says:

I haven’t been to the UK since 2008. Since I promised myself to be over there once every year I’m seriously overdue.

  19. michelle michelle says:

    YAY for changes to Liverpool!!!!!!

  20. Jana Jana says:

    @Michelle – Figured you’d like that news.

  21. michelle michelle says:

Even better is that I am due for an early shift that week in work, so finishing at 3.45 means I don’t have to go straight from work and can actually go home and change, and not be covered in food or kids paint :D
I will be stalking lurking to keep up to date with updates

  22. Jana Jana says:

@Michelle – that sounds good. I suspect we’ll get a list of hotels in the next few days and then Jeyn and I can use our Google Fu and figure out the closest pub/cafe for a meetup. Hopefully it will be near convenient transport for your folks

  23. michelle michelle says:

We are lucky in that there are a ton of busses that go to a ton of places over here. From where I live its a 5 min walk to bus station and train station and if i am really desperate I could smile at my mum or dad to pick me up from my place and take me to wherever the meet up is :D

  24. dawn dawn says:

Michelle I second that yay!! So happy about the time too, I am in university that day so I will be definitely be able to go if its in the afternoon!!

  25. Shauna Shauna says:

    I live in Ireland… Cry
